I paid extra to have more legroom and it is definitely worth it for a six hour flight. I would’ve paid for a decent dinner, but they didn’t offer anything but a snack box —not good for six hours. We did not get to Phoenix until almost 3 hours after we were originally supposed to. This was the first and last time I will be flying Frontier. Our original business class flight was cancelled so we not only downgraded but we were also spread out across the plane not sitting together in separate middle seats. My poor kids were scared and couldn’t see me on the flight and the crew wasn’t sensitive to the situation and what the airlines did to us.

The first plane had mechanical issues. The 2nd plane must have had bathroom issues because we did not have any food service whatsoever. That made for a long time not to have anything considering that we had just made it to the original gate and we had no time to stop to get food or a drink. Then we didn't want to leave the gate to get food because we wouldn't know how much longer the delay would be.
Seatback entertainment system did not work even when the flight attendant rebooted it. At least I had my cell phone to connect with wifi. I suspect i caught flu on this flight as i could hear someone coughing a few rows back and ended up with flu a few days later. Also tiresome to have to watch movies on my device by holding up smartphone screen, would have liked to have in seat display.

Built in 1939 as a totally new kind of federal office building, the Ford Building was economical and swiftly constructed. New Deal programs fueled an unprecedented increase in federal employees and resulted in the demand for more office space. While noble and expensive office buildings were being built in the Federal Triangle and elsewhere in Washington, D.C., it was clear these buildings would not solve the space shortage soon enough. It was decided to create a new class of office building, one that could be built cheaply with the "speed of a warehouse," and could be used by any agency needing space. This new class of building would be called the "General Federal Office Building" and was frequently described in the press as "utilitarian."

Two additional stories are partially hidden by a marble balustrade. The Longworth Building takes its place along with the National Gallery of Art (1941) and the Jefferson Memorial (1943) as one of Washington's best examples of the neoclassical revival style popular in the second quarter of the twentieth century. In 1990, the building was renamed for Gerald R. Ford, long a member of the house from Michigan and former vice-president and president of the United States. The Gerald R. Ford House Office Building was constructed during the New Deal as the Federal General Office Building No. 1 (GOB #1). It was built just behind the new Social Security and Railroad Retirement Board buildings, which were underway at the time. Work included the lowering of hallway ceilings to accommodate the upgraded wiring and sprinkler equipment. Renovations continued throughout the 1980s and included adding solar collectors to the roof to furnish a portion of the energy used by the building (the installation was removed in 2004 and 2005). The pace of renovations slowed as more staff were moved into the building, requiring work to proceed in smaller areas. Because AOC was managing the renovation, the project was completed more cheaply; in addition, there was enough flexibility to place AOC staff in the building immediately as well as meet changing congressional offices requirements over the course of the renovations.
Today, the Ford Building is occupied mainly by staff of various committees of the House of Representatives, the Congressional Budget Office and the Architect of the Capitol. When the Longworth Building was completed, it contained 251 congressional suites with pale blue leather couches, walnut desks and safes in Members' private offices; private lavatories; and larger offices for staff and visitors that sported walnut paneling and brocade curtains. Every suite had a legislative buzzer system to relay calls to vote and other House action as well as phone lines in both the reception and Member's office. With construction continuing day and night, the structure was erected in just a few months, using prefabricated doors and windows. Construction workers also relied on innovative procedures, including mixing concrete while it was in transit to the building site—delivered 24 hours a day—and new methods for quickly curing the concrete once it was poured. In this, it anticipated the utilitarian architecture so common in the post-World War II era. The Longworth Building occupies an irregularly shaped site opposite the Capitol on the south side of Independence Avenue. Of the three House office buildings, the Longworth Building is the smallest at 702,608 square feet. The Ford House Office Building is the only House Office Building that is not connected underground to either one of the other office buildings or to the Capitol itself, and the only House Office Building that does not contain offices of members of Congress.
